Dabu uses a mud-resist technique, where a clay paste is applied to the fabric before dyeing, creating soft, earthy patterns often in indigo and grey tones with a signature cracked effect. In contrast, Bagru involves direct printing using natural dyes like red, black, and ochre on a beige base, known for its bold floral and geometric motifs. While Dabu emphasizes texture and resist effects, Bagru stands out for its vibrant simplicity and symmetry. Both techniques use hand-carved wooden blocks and are crafted by skilled artisans. Together, they celebrate the timeless charm of slow, sustainable fashion.
